What Juru is, and isn’t
Juru reads the bank statements and feeds you give it, shows you what came in, what went out and what stayed, and keeps track of the goals you set in your own words.
Juru is not financial advice. It doesn’t recommend financial products, tell you how to invest, or take your personal circumstances into account the way a licensed adviser would. Juru is not a bank and can’t move money. For decisions that matter, talk to a qualified professional.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or over and live in Australia or New Zealand. Your account is for you alone. Keep access to your email secure, because that’s how you sign in.
Your data
Your data stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide Juru to you, as the privacy policy describes. You can export everything, or delete everything, from Settings at any time.
Bank feeds
If you connect a bank feed (such as Up or Akahu) with a personal token, you confirm it’s your own and you’re allowed to use it this way under your bank’s or provider’s terms. Juru uses it only to read your transactions. You can disconnect it at any time, and its token is destroyed.
How accurate the figures are
Juru calculates every figure from the transactions it has, and shows you which ones. It can only be as complete as what you give it: a missing statement means missing transactions. Transactions read from a PDF are added only after you confirm them. Amounts converted between currencies use the European Central Bank’s reference rate for each day and are approximate (marked ≈). Your bank’s records are the official record; if something looks wrong, check it there and tell us.
Language models
Chat, PDF reading and check-in wording use a language model. Its replies can quote figures Juru has calculated, but writing can still be imperfect. Please don’t rely on a chat reply alone for an important decision.
Membership, trials and cancelling
- Juru is a paid membership, billed monthly or yearly through Stripe in Australian or New Zealand dollars. The price is shown before you pay.
- New members get a 14-day free trial. A card is needed to start it. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won’t be charged.
- Memberships renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Settings, and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Founding member prices stay the same for as long as your membership continues without a break.
- If we change the price, we’ll tell you at least [30] days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will try again, and access pauses if it still hasn’t gone through after a grace period. Your data isn’t deleted.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986. Where those laws let us limit our liability, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or refunding what you paid for the period affected.
Fair use
Please don’t use Juru to break the law, upload information that isn’t yours to share, try to get into other people’s data, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or resell it.
Changes and availability
We’re a small team and Juru is in beta, so it will change and occasionally be unavailable. We’ll tell you before any change to these terms that matters, and you can stop using Juru (and delete your data) if you don’t agree.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by cancelling your membership, deleting everything, or both. We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data unless the law prevents it.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of [STATE], Australia. If you live in New Zealand, nothing here takes away protections New Zealand law gives you.
